High School and the future?????
Here in NYC, our 8th graders have received notice of their high school placements for next year. Some of them were happy, some were not. High school is important because it helps set you up for the future and get you ready for college and beyond.
Barack Obama gave a great speech to the youth of the USA at the beginning of the year about the importance of education and making goals. You can watch it here:
If you want to read along with the speech, here is the text: http://www.whitehouse.gov/the_press_office/Remarks-by-the-President-in-a-National-Address-to-Americas-Schoolchildren/
Do you have goals for your future? What are they? How will you begin to achieve them? Are you thinking about high school and beyond?

Bake Sale for Haiti
Our bake sale the other day was a huge success. We earned $135 for Haiti in about 30 minutes. We are deciding what organization we want to send our money to and will post about that soon. Hope your concert tonight is amazing too!

As you know, a devastating earthquake hit Haiti. Thousands of people have been hurt and killed.
Do you think that we as Americans/Spaniards should do something to help the people in Haiti? Why or why not?
If you think we should help, how could our schools raise money to send to Haiti?
